Ace Liposome Renwal Whitening Serum Review

Yesterday i reviewed the 1st step for the Neogence Ace Liposome range, the Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion (go check it out if you haven't because it's a great buy). Today will be step 2, the Ace Liposome Renewal Whitening Serum.

When facing a full range of skincare products, there are times where you don't know which products to use first and when to use it. A rule of the thumb would be to go from the lightest/thinnest consistency to the heavier/thicker, and wait till each step gets absorbed entirely before applying the next, simply because that way, the products won't interfere with each other's efficiency.

Like the Viccal serum I've previously reviewed, this serum comes in a form of a dripper tube as well. I mentioned then that i really liked this type of packaging because it lets me control the amount of product i want really easily. In this case, 1~2 drips is enough for me to effectively apply to my entire face.

Serums tend to be richer as compared to lotions and moisturizers as they are more concentrated, so i only use this every other night or (a drop or less) when I need my skin to be more 'glowly' because it does brighten, radiate, and smooth the skin. There is only a slight sticky feeling (for about 5~10 seconds) before it gets absorbed into the skin. Yay for silky smooth skin after the serum!~

The texture of the serum is slightly thicker than that of the lotion as well. It has a very slight milky appearance, and smoothes over the face with ease. It literally glides onto your face and absorps very very quickly~. The product smells similar to that of the lotion, so no problem with the scent for me.

The Ace Liposome Renewal Whitening Serum retails for $67.90 for 30ml, which I personally feel is pretty reasonable for a price of a serum targetted at working adults. I'm sure that many of the serums easily go up to $80~$100+. Again, this is exclusively available at SaSa outlets islandwide.

Neogence Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion Review

Sponsored Review
I've previously mentioned that i was sponsored by Sasa to review the full range of the Neogence Ace Liposome products, and here today is the review of the whitening lotion~

Vitamin A+C+E will at the same time renew, brighten, and combat aging
Ellagic acid + Chamomile effectively represses melanin processes, brightening skin tone
Hydrates, conditions skin texture, and effectively enhances absorption of active ingredients

The lotion is housed in a white plastic bottle with orange and black accents. It sorts of look like those products you'd get prescribed from a doctor, quite a clinic-y packaging. The box also has a picture of how the product looks like so that you know what you're getting. I hate it when i buy a product with a huge box thinking that it's gonna be a big tube/bottle but it ends up mostly in plastic.. #bummer.

Sorry for the blurred words at the edges. Since it is a round bottle, this is the best that I am able to do...

Refreshing and Reactivate Sebum Mechanism
Promote Follow-up Effective Ingredient Absorption
Block Melanin Formation and Dark Spot

Basically what this does is that it preps your skin for better absorption of further skincare products, and works to effectively boost the other products in the range. Sort of like an 'activator' or primer.

The top of the bottle features a normal bottle cap, and the product dispenses from this tiny tapered hole. It allows me to effectively control the amount of product I'd like to dispense onto my palm or cotton pad.

Generally in bodycare, when you heard of the word "Lotion" you'd be thinking creams and body butters, and the likes. As for skincare, lotion is a form of "toner" in my book. The Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion has a water-like texture and application on the face is easy as a breeze because it absorbs quickly without a sticky/oily feeling. In fact, my skin feels well hydrated, taunt, and smooth after application! My skin also looks more healthy, brighter, and definitely smoother~

Like I mentioned earlier, you can use this by directly applying it onto your skin or with a cotton pad to your preference. I use it directly if I wasn't wearing makeup before that and with a cotton pad if I was. A few drops (2~4 depending on skin condition) is enough to cover my entire face and neck area.
I'm not sure of the scent but there seems to be a light whiff of chamomile while is really soothing and relaxing. From the way this lotion works, it seems to be a good mask-essence for self-soak mask sheets as well.

Neogence Ace Intensive Whitening Lotion retails for $26.90 for a 120ml bottle, and is exclusively available at Sasa stores islandwide.

Sigma Spa Solutions

Tuesday, February 21, 2012
Being the usual me, I was online till late last night and I noticed that Sigma has launched a new product!! I've already had my eyes set on the Mrs Bunny brush set but haven't got to buy it yet, and now this comes along.. If i had even just a little less self control, all my $ will be going to Sigma T___T

So they just launched a new kit, to be used with their Cleansing&Polishing Tool, which is the new Spa Solutions.

The kit has 3 different heads for use on the body with the Cleansing&Polishing Tool

Soft Brush

Exfoliator

Massager

If you don't already own the Cleansing & Polishing tool, they have the Spa Solutions Complete Kit for you as well, which contains both the Cleaning&Polishing tool and the Spa Solutions kit.

My only complaint is that Sigma should give a discount (or free shipping) to those who has already previously bought the Cleansing&Polishing tool because this will cost us an extra $9, and an additional shipping cost as compared to if we were to have waited for the complete kit to come out.. Ohwells~ Will you be getting your hands on this?

Skin79 Vital BB Cream Review

Monday, February 20, 2012
Sponsored Review
Before Chinese New Year this year, I had actually received a festively packaged package from Skin79, which contains their newly launched (at then) Vital BB Cream and their very first eyeliner - the simple touch eyeliner.

I've briefly covered the product previously as well as featured it in my January Favourites last month. So as promised, here's the full review.

The BB cream is housed in an orange cylindrical pump bottle, just like their Hot Pink BB Cream and the VIP Gold bottles, just that this is in orange. It retails for $49.90 (40g) which I believe is more expensive that the latter 2 due to its ingredients and higher SPF as compared.

This BB cream not only improves (reduces) the appearences of wrinkles, it whitens as well over time (yay!). That is however, not enough. It takes it a notch further and prevents wrinkles and sun damage by implimenting the SPF50 PA+++ factor.

I fairly like the packaging of the bottle simply because it's a lovely colour that brightens up my vanity. A pretty good way to start the day. The size of the bottle gives a pretty good grip in my hands as well. The pump however, tends to dispense way too much product so a light tap is a good way to dispense the product, then build and pump out more if needed.

More information: (If you need any missing bits that are blocked by the reflection of the light, do let me know!)

My favourite way to apply BB cream is to actually use my fingers because BB creams tend to be thicker and warms up better (and thus makes application and blending easier) on your fingertips better than the bristles of a brush or the surface of a sponge.

Even though I've already stated that I'm a big fan of pumps, I kinda love/hate this pump because not only does it tend to dispense way too much product at one go, it dries along the sides of the tube. I usually clear it before pumping with a toothpick covered with a little bit of cotton wool or tissue.

The BB cream is of quite a thick texture, even thicker than that of the Hot Pink and VIP Gold one.

It gives light to medium coverage, but is not enough to cover blemishes on my skin, and gives a good glow and evens out the skin tone. This BB cream is quite reflective (but contains no shimmer) and gives a dewy rather than matte finish (possibly due to the SPF 50), but it is suitable for oily~combination skin types as well. I'd usually prefer to use this as a tinted moisturizer by dilluting it out with my moisturizer so that it doesn't wash me out, because it does have a tad bit of grey tint due to how light the colour is. While using, i can feel that my skin gets a little taunter as well~
It blends easily with no problem, but do blend it slowly and in light layers for the best coverage and take your time. It doesn't blend as easily when you dab on a huge amount and try to smear it all over your face. Of course, dabbing motions around areas that need more coverage will help (:.

Skin79 Vital BB Cream retails for $49.90 at Watsons stores. Do like their Facebook page if you have more enquiries that i may not be able to answer or to find out more about their products (:.

Talika Cream Booster Review

Friday, February 17, 2012
Sponsored Review
About a month ago, I received an interesting gadget from Talika to review. I've always been keeping a look out for beauty gadgets after I've gotten my Sigma Cleansing and Polishing Tool because not only do beauty tools make things easier, the technology that goes into them gives better results as compared to the old days. (Brushes are a form a makeup tool as well!)

I've previously covered the Talika Cream Booster Media Event and was really interested in the product because of the light therapy and NASA technology. Since it's using light therapy, the chances of any allergic reactions are probably all ruled out.

The Cream Booster is housed in a beautiful mint green (almost Tiffany&Co's colour) box that's basically self explanatory. I hate those products that come in boxes that don't give you any information at all! Security seal as well~

The contents of the box.

Comes with (and the cream booster operates on) a single AAA battery, the cream booster (duh), and an instruction/information booklet.

Starting up the product is really simple, you just have to twist off the cap, put the battery in, and twist it shut. You'd also notice there isn't an off/on button, but I'll explain that in a bit.

There is a protective cover on the product head as well.

The gadget has a really sleek and light design, which allows you to use it with ease. At the back (or front) of the product, there is a silver panel with the Talika brand on it. The reason why there isn't an off/on button is because the cream booster turns off/on with touch sensors. The cream booster will only turn on it both the Silver panel and the product head is in contact with skin. Smart idea aye?

While the product is on, there will be yellow lights flickering and a soft vibrating motion to massage your skin.

I've been using the Cream Booster twice daily after skincare, and I got to say that i can see that my skin did indeed get more radiant (maybe because of the vibrating massage as well). I prefer to use this after my skincare products get absorbed because if i use it directly on the product, I find that the sensor at the head of the product sometimes and blocked and does not sense as well, even though it is recommended that I apply a fair amount of your Skincare before the application of Cream Booster instead. I found that my skin also felt smoother and firmer after use, even though my skincare product is not for firming, that's because the gadget stimulates collagen production.

As for the price.. this is definitely not the cheapest gadget out there. However, if you can well afford it and are really spending a good amount of money of your skincare product, I will definitely recommend this. Say if you're using a good $200 of products, why not take it a notch up and let it work its best for you?

Neogence Ace Liposome Ace Renewal and Repairing Mask

Sponsored Review
I'm sure that alot of you have often heard the advantage of having oily skin, which is that you don't show signs of ageing (roughness, wrinkles, loss of firmness) easily as those who have dry skin. It's quite simple really - the 'oil' or sebum creates a sort of 'barrier' that prevents moisture to be lost from the skin as easily as compared to that of dryer skin types. However, clinic studies has found out that oily skin has poor absorption rate in skincare products.

Because of the slow metabolism for this skin type, making the structure of epidermal cells irregular and disorganized and in return the excess sebum secretion make the old and dead skin cells stick up on the skin surface, leading to the poor absorption ability. If no remedial action is taken, even thousands bottles of precious skincare products are being used, the result of anti-aging protection would be limited.ACE series aims to effectively release skin from dullness and roughness, darkness and restore skin firmness.

I was recently sponsored by Sasa (thanks to Kiyora dear) the full range of Neogence's brand new Ace Liposome range. The word 'Liposome' is derived from Patent Liposome® Conduction Technology, which increases ingredient penetration by 300%. The range is actually developed for this type of oily/combination skin types which targets to "Restructure and Renew" the skin, and i will be reviewing the products bit by bit. Today's review will be on the Ace Renewal and Repairing Mask.

A box contains 3 pieces of mask, and retails for $22.90. It isn't really the cheapest product out there, but it is to target skin from probably around the 20's to 40's (not to sure on this) so i think the price is fairly reasonable for working ladies, who can definitely afford it as other highly advertised brands are way more expensive.

Lets face it, we all have skincare woes, and parts of our skin we're unhappy about. And, its not like we can easily hide out whole face behind a mask..

This mask contains..
a) Vitamin A+C+E microemulsion essence for 15minutes of intensive repairing
One of the main product used in the whole range of Ace Liposome is Vitamin A because it works on the deeper eperdemis, underlying layers of skin to renew, restructure, and metabolize old skin cells, thus improving absorption. of Vitamin A, C, and E helps in skin renewing, lightening, and contains anti-oxidants.
b) Peptide wrinkle-smoothing factor Matrixyl™3000 effectively reduce wrinkles
This i couldn't really judge because I don't have any wrinkles to test on..

Always start off with a clean face.

I started off before skincare as I was afraid that the mask might be way too rich if i had skincare products prior to applying it. It was a good choice because after I removed the mask, my skin was so well hydrated I didn't need to apply my skincare (:. [Am currently using the Ace Liposome range as well]

Then happily whip out your mask. I'm someone that has sensitive skin so i don't usually put the mask in the fridge before application unless I have a sunburn on my face or the weather is really warm. You can choose to do so it you like.

The mask is made out of a super conducting fiber material and is very thin. It is enclosed between a plastic sheet and a blue fiber sheet. Unfold the mask and remove the plastic sheet first. Following that, fit the mask onto your face and remove the blue sheet. This is to ensure that you don't rip the mask during application, and is commonly used for thin mask sheets as such.

The mask doesn't have much of a smell to me, but if it does it is definitely something tolerable/nice smelling. The material is very thin - such that I'm still able to see the redness/blemishes on my forehead, but not as silky smooth as I am used to. This however, enables me to go about doing my usual stuff without worrying that the mask might come off. There are tiny holes in the material of the mask, and the mask comes with eye flaps as well for those who like a take a short nap with their masks.

Fit of the mask is good as well. Since the mask is pretty light, i had no problems with adjusting it onto the contours of my face.

If you're someone like me that can't stay still while doing a mask, this mask lets me do my own things at ease. For example..

Snacking? Just make sure it's nothing that requires vigirous mouth action.

Goofing off~

Take pictures of yourself taking pictures of yourself~

Or simply using the laptop.

Be sure to keep track of the time so that you don't over apply the mask!

After masking, some people prefer to wipe off the excess essence while I personally prefer to massage it into my face. Don't forget your neck area as well! The essence absorbs really quickly and by the time i woke up tomorrow, there was no residue on my skin.

My face felt smooth and velvety soft after the mask, and my skin looks very transulscent and radiant. Since i have combination~oily skin, i found that the mask was a little too moisturizing for me around my T-zone because i woke up with my T-zone a tad (really just a little) oily. That being said, my skin didn't break out from this mask so I won't mind to continue using it.

If you're wondering where can you check out or purchase this range of products (which I really love and highly recommend because I'm using it now..) do check it out at SaSa stores because Neogence ACE Liposome is exclusively available at SaSa stores, so you won't be able to find it anywhere else~
