A box of happy

Advertorial
Are you always having troubles when you're buying gifts for others, especially for that friend that has everything? This might just be your solution - a Happybox.
Personally, i hated buying gifts for people because I'm not sure whether or not they'll like it, whether or not it'll be practical, and even worse is if the person owns something similar already. On the other hand, my concerns are the same if I were to receive a present : will i like it? will i need it? and if i don't like it, won't be it a waste not to use it?? and the list goes on..

The Happybox comes in 2 different types, the Beauty Delights Happybox and the Wine & Dine Happybox, which retails for $59 and $169 respectively.  In each box, you'll get a gift card with the unique registeration number, as well as a booklet with their partners' services (as well as details) you can choose from.

With over 20 partners working with them, the recepient will be overwhelmed with choices, and you can ensure that your gift will make someone happy. The steps for registering and making their appointments (whether it is the beauty or the wine&dine box) is easy as 1 2 3.. and 4.

[Video Tutorial] Simple Braided Fringe

Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Okay guys so I've finally gotten down to doing this video of how to get my braided fringe done (kept to my promise in the previous post, yay!) and as you can see, it's really really easy to do. Don't expect to get it looking all nice at the first try, but once you get the hang of it you will be able to do it really quickly. Here I wasn't even using a mirror to do it!

This is my very first video, and i never got to filming videos because I was quite self conscious and kept procrastinating about doing it even though I've wanted to do it since I've gotten my braces done... Let me know what you guys think about it ok? Would be lovely if you guys could subscribe to me too, hehe.

Without further ado, I present to you guys my very first video!

Braided fringe

Saturday, August 11, 2012
I've had soooo many people asking me how I braid my fringe like this and it's actually really easy. I'll hopefully be doing a tuitorial on it soon, probably a video since I can't take pictures while having both my hands busy with it lol. Anyways, here's just a quick picture of how I did it the other day on a day out with my sister. I really like this because it keeps my fringe out of the way since I'm growing it out now, and it adds a little pizazz into the hairstyle (be it tied up or let down) as opposed to simply clipping it away.
Also, I know I haven't been updating as much as I used to, nor are there as many personal updates, so if you guys want quick mini updates you can follow me on Twitter or Instagram @vainpot94 ^^.

Went out with my bbgirls yesterday for a little catch up and to stroll around town. Didn't take much pictures of the short day we had together nor did we take much pictures lol. Also tried playing around with the different effects in photoshop thats why they're mostly the same pictures. Pictures taken with Casio's Exilim TR150!

This one was edited using my iPhone. The words were then added in using the computer.

I really need to do a proper update hahaha. Maybe a post on beauty supplements will be coming up soon. Also, I'm removing my braces in September so i might start doing videos as well! ^^

My Hada Labo Skincare Routine

Saturday, August 4, 2012
Hey girls! Today I'm going to share with you all one of my favourite skincare range/brand which will definitely be no stranger to you guys - Hada Labo. Here is my existing range of Hada Labo skincare products (forgot to include the UV Milk), and my current Hada Labo skincare routine.
I've been a big fan of Hada Labo ever since last year when I first tried it out, and have since featured it in a few of my blog posts previously. (August Favourites, September Favourites, October Favourites, and have done product reviews for the Cleansing Oil as well as their UV Milk). Spot the products with the "*new*" tag? Read on and find out more about them!

For normal days, I jump straight into using the cleanser but on days when I have my makeup on, my first step would be to remove it with the cleansing oil. After cleansing, my face still feels supple and moist, not tight nor dry. The range is able to keep my skin well hydrated - with only a small price tag. Uber loves!

The following step would be to rehydrate the skin, with the hydrating lotion. I've been using the old bottle for so long (but not daily) and so far have only been through 1/2 a bottle! A little drop is all that you need for each application, which makes this last for a really long time!

You might be wondering why I labelled it as a "new" product when it's been in the market for so long, right? Well, the lotion that I love now has a new nano formula, which  not only reaches deeper into the layers of the skin, but also absorbs even more quickly than the old formula.
I especially like it for it's light and watery texture, and that it leaves the skin soooo smooth after application.
Not only that, the rate of sale has doubled! Going from 1 bottle every 4 seconds to 1 bottle every 2 seconds!
"The new ‘nano’ hyaluronic acid molecule is 1/20 the size of the normal hyaluronic acid’s. This enables penetration to areas deep within the skin. The other two hyaluronic acid, ‘Normal’ and ‘Super’ hydrate skin closer to the surface."

*The new nano formula SHA lotion was sent to me for consideration for reviewing.

On days when the weather is drier, I will amp up the moisture level with an additional layer of moisturiser - which i feel is not usually needed since the hydrating lotion keeps my skin hydrated enough, and I don't want to over-nourish my skin because I have oily skin.
The cream is light too, and really nourishing so unless you have dry skin i would recommend that you go easy on this product. I absorbs moderately well, and does not leave a sticky or oily feeling. My only complaint will be that it is in a tub form, so I'll have to use a spatula to scoop it out and it is less hygenic. On the other hand, the tub makes it so that we can get to the very last scoop of the product, and the tub can be reused in the future.

After that, I end my routine with a new product - The Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Eye Cream.
Yay for pumps! Banzai!
The eye cream has a texture that is similar to that of the moisturizer, and trust me when I say a little goes a long way. I barely sqeeze out a pearl size amount for both eyes (just a light tap on the pump) - and that is more than enough for the under-eye area, crow's feet area, and eyelid area. Go full pump at your own risk lol. The eye cream contains 3 types of Hyaluronic Acids (normal, super, and nano) to moisturize deeply and thoroughlly, ACTIFLOW to increase blood circulation to lighten dark circles and puffiness, as well as Jojoba Oil to smoothen fine lines. Retails $21.90 for 15g.
* Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Eye Cream was sent to me for consideration for review.

I've been using this range of products for nearly a year now and they have never shown any adverse effects on my skin, only good results - and they're easily available and not that expensive. This is NOT AN AD, and other than the otherwise disclaimed products, the rest of the products were bought by myself. I'm sharing this since I have quite a few people asking me about my skincare routine, and this is the only consistent routine that I use on a regular basis (since i'm trying out a lot of new products).

Purple (Plus Magenta) Dip-Dye @ Shunji Matsuo at 313

Thursday, August 2, 2012
Sponsored
If you haven't already realised, I dyed the ends of my hair purple a while ago, and I recently touched it up and added Magenta shades to the end as well. Again, I got it done at my hair sponsor - Shunji Matsuo @ 313. If you are interested, call them up at 62380226 to make an appointment!
(Quote my name "Yijing" to get 10% off chemical processes!)

I went to the salon with an initial idea of wanting to do a ombre dip dye with colours, but wasn't set on any colour yet. Caely gave me the suggestion to go with a purple/violet colour, and I wanted to add the pink to create more dimension to the colour, and I'm sooooooo happy with the results I can't even put it into words.

Before that, the base colour of my hair was Mocha Brown, and Caely darkened the colour for me during the first visit so that the purple isn't too striking. Prior to that, the ends of my hair were bleached. For the first visit, it took me about 6 hours to complete the whole process - but it was soooo worth it. (Mental note to self: prepare food before going to do my hair.)

1st visit for ombre : Darkening of hair colour + bleaching and colouring ends + steam treatment.

Look how pretty the colour looks!

2nd visit: Touch up for purple, lightening ends, and adding magenta + treatment.
I wanted the pink to be an accent to the purple, and add dimension to the colour and Caely nailed it! I just told her what I wanted roughly and left the rest entirely up to her because she's a professional and will definitely suggest something that will look the best for me!

If you're wondering why there seems to be less purple now, it's because I got my hair trimmed a little as well.

Right now I'm sooooo in love with the results I can't even put my excitement to words. I'm thinking of trying pink + orange ends the next time round since I really liked the orange colour that was left behind when removing the purple before touch up!

Thank yoooooou Caely! ^~^

Little dates

Wednesday, August 1, 2012
Just some random pictures from mini dates with the boy over the past few weekends before he headed over for his Taiwan trip. In no particular order btw.

@Bakerzin
I really like their Vongole there because they are very generous with their servings. The standard of the food, however, differs from outlet to outlet. The one at JP was my favourite. It's pretty affordable, about $20/pax.

@TWG

@Genki Sushi
My favourite sushi place as of now! It's not only very affordable, the standard of the food there gives you a run for your money. The average price of a plate of sushi is only $2.30. The Fresh Norwegian Salmon looked so good when B ordered it it actually got me into eating sashimi!! Plus, ordering is done with an iPad and it's delivered via the conveyor vehicles so you barely have to move from your seat, and your order is only prepared when ordered! Major loves!
