Makeup for bigger looking eyes + OOTD 29/11/12

Friday, November 30, 2012
Hey guys! If you haven't already seen me sharing this on my social media platforms, I've actually filmed a makeup tutorial on how to get bigger looking eyes, which i wore yesterday. The make up was sort of inspired by the way Korean tutorials always shown eyeliners being done so I sorta consider it as a little ulzzang-ish?

Anyway, here's the tutorial.
Products used:
Majolica Majorca Cream Pencil Liner in Cocoa Brown
CLIO Professional Eye Love You Eyeliner in 21 Glow Beige
Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner
Eyemazing False Lashes #801

I also did a OOTD shot of myself and thought I'd share it with you guys as well. My laptop is down currently so I'm blogging from my sister's netbook which I can't upload pictures from - and thus these pictures are from what I already have uploaded.

My bandage skirt was actually a boob tube I have from Miss Selfridge which was bought about 2 years ago. The reason I went with a boob tube was because the tank was too loose for me and it doubles as both a bottom as well as an inner tube/slip.

Accessories: Fake Collar Necklace, Online. Bangles, H&M | Top: H&M | Dress: Miss Selfridge | Shoes: Mitju | Satchel: Rabeanco

The tank was full length but I twisted it to the side, tied it up, and tucked it into the waistline. Wore a fake collar necklace to bring more attention to my bare collar area, and matched it with the bag and shoes from the previous outfit post. I really like the shoes (even though walking for them for so long gave me about 4 blisters) because they elongate my legs even more than they already are~

If any of you are curious about how the shots were taken.. I actually took them myself using the motion shutter mode of the Casio TR150, with the camera on a stone chair in public. It was rather awkward but luckily there weren't much people around when I took the shots! Shall end the post here, hope you guys like it!

OOTD/LOTD: Wearing his pants.

Monday, November 26, 2012
The title of this post is really just me wearing B's pants (lol). I stole a pair of his jeans from his closet because I wanted to try out the "boyfriend jeans" look (and also trying to go for that "running-the-errands-on-a-sunday-with-a-cup-of-starbucks-in-my-hands" look) - and I'm lucky that he's a skinny guy because they fit me well at the hips (I'm a size 24) and saved me from wearing a belt or any peek-a-boo moments.

Anyway, here's my attempt at the LOTD post... with the most awkward pair of slippers by the side because I took these by the door before I headed out today. I cuffed the pants to just above my ankle so it highlights the slimmest part of my legs - and thus visually slimming the legs down despite it being so baggy and shapeless. Bringing a feminine touch with my nude heels (it elongates the legs more) to bring height and prevent the boyfriend jeans from making me look stumpy.

Paired it with a white scallop top (wearing the tube inside because it's really loose) because I wanted to keep the colours in the look light (probably one of the only white coloured clothing I own) so that I can be more dramatic with my makeup without looking over-done.

Top: Bangkok | Jeans: B's, Topman | Shoes: Mitju | Bag: Rabeanco

Naruko's Apple Seed & Tranexamic Acid Black Spots and Lines Defying Mask

Wednesday, November 21, 2012
I've recently stopped doing masks for a long while now because my skin has been quite oily of late, but last week I decided to give masks another try and what I picked up to try was Naruko's Apple Seed & Tranexamic Acid Black Spots and Lines Defying Mask that was sent to me previously to try out.

Last month, B's finally hit the milestone of his NS term after 9 long months - his commissioning parade. Over this 9 months he's been overseas twice for about 3 weeks each time so its not only hard for him but for me too because I was unable to contact him when he's overseas so I'm really happy now for him that he's commissioned as well!~

Anyway, let the pictures do the talking! Mix from both his commissioning parade and the comms ball.

Senka x Ma Cherie

Friday, November 9, 2012
A couple of months back, I was invited by dear Charmian to the launch of Senka and Ma Cherie in Singapore. She will be the one managing these brands so she's really excited to launch them in Singapore, and I was happy to have been a part of the launch at Octa Hotel and to try out the products before they were released into the market. Of course, the only reason why I'm writing this is because the products were satisfactory and I'm here to share more about it with you ladies.

Ma Cherie
(I left out the hair fragrance in the picture for Ma Cherie)

"Ma Cherie" actually means "my sweetheart" in French, and this range of hair care products are inspired by it's name - and the line cares for your hair in the most luxurious and sweet way, for a romantic fragrance that lingers through your silky soft hair. Products contains ingredients like champange, honey, and inostiol.

The thing about social media

Sunday, November 4, 2012
In our new age of media, where social media is more influential than it used to be and news are spread more quickly online on websites like Facebook and Twitter, I realised that one thing it has allowed for is not only the faster movement of news and gossips, but as well as for people to spread negativity and hate faster as well as on a much larger scale as opposed to conventional media.

As much as I myself love social media and the fact that it's convenient and I get to access it from the palm on my hand, I really have to say that it brings on a lot of hate because it also makes it easier for Internet trolls to generate negativity anonymously.

With the news circulating online, many will post/comment their own thoughts without realising the further consequences, and sometimes it might spark off someone else to feed into their pool of thoughts and result in a group of trolls formed to feed off and "support" one another in spreading their hate.

Sure there are times when social media is convenient, like the case where actor Nat Ho's father went missing - news were spread around on social media and they got news regarding the location of Nat's dad within a few days. That being said, more than half the time, i noticed that it's negative news (look at the Amy Cheong incident, that NUS Scholar Alvin's blog, as well as the most recent article about a young taxi driver who earned $7000 in one of the month but was misinterpreted via Straits Times) that spread twice or even thrice as quickly - but why?

I understand that people tend to spread negative news more quickly because they tend to be more interesting and 'juicy', but half the time the news doesn't even affect them directly/indirectly. Sometimes I think it really ought to be "If you have nothing good to say, don't say it", but that's something a lot of people don't comprehend. What will you achieve from adding on fuel to the fire?? Can someone please explain their mentality to me?

The reason for this post is because I cannot comprehend this at all. Why must humans be so ugly on the inside and look at others for their worst, but instead why can't we have more news that ignites more humanity in Singapore. I feel that social media is being abused by such people and I for one am rather disgusted by it. I really like social media and the way it has enhanced and improved from convential media, but obviously there are pros and cons to such cases.

With that, I end this post here. Food for thought?? I might be writing more posts FFT posts so you guys don't think I'm such a superficial bimbo I'm sure a lot of you see me as hahahaha. Happy Sunday everyone!

Red

Saturday, November 3, 2012
Ok, so this post is nothing more than just a filler post hehe. Tried red lips for the very first time ,and here's the picture of it i posted up on instagram. I've never tried red lips because I never found the colour that I really liked yet (until this) and I wasn't very good at drawing my lips - they weren't very well drawn here either but I think it's good enough.

Wasn't wearing falsies, just mascara and some eyeliner to keep the look simpler, also because thats what I wore out before I added the red lips lol. Will probably start wearing it out soon though, but we'll see. If any of you are interested in the colour, it's actually a lip liner - not a lipstick. Sephora's house brand, lip liner in Real Red (20).

Little Pancakes

Thursday, November 1, 2012
I'm all for having breakfast for lunch/dinner so one of the days last month, B, Ning (my sister) and I headed to Little Pancakes to try out their pancakes. It wasn't really an easy place to find, so it was handy that B drove that day.
