Le Noir

Couple of days back, i was invited to catch the Le Noir Cirque performance (thanks to Gushcloud and Base Entertainment) and I got to bring the boy with me to catch the show with fellow Gushcloud bloggers and their +1's. B wasn't that thrilled to go along in the first place, but by the break time he was going on about how sick the acts were - in a good way of course.

For those who haven't heard of Le Noir, they are actually a travelling cirque, with 20 of the world's BEST circus professionals, from contortionist to aerial performances. They are now here at Marina Bay Sands Theatre after a sold-out world premier in Tokyo! Here are some pictures i took with my phone during the performance. I didn't want to take too much because I think you guys should really go catch it and experience the atmosphere of the show. It's not just the acts that are great - it's amplified even more with the great co-ordination of the lights and the rest of the effects during the acts.

The performance was also very interactive, with members of the audience called up to stage a couple of times for some short skits. Tammy's boyfriend was one of the few that were actually chosen to go onto the stage!

Throughout the show I was soooooooo stunned because the acts were amazing. You really have to experience this by yourself.

With the Gushcloud bloggers! First 2 pictures from Tammy's blog!

Le Noir closes 7th April so be sure to catch it real soon! Prices range from $35~$135 before tax. VIP tickets are at $370 a pair.

Was tagged by Kiyora to do this tag so here it is!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Straight!

2. What’s your natural hair colour?
Black/Dark Brown

3. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I used to do it at a salon but my roots were growing out too quickly and I was lazy to touch them up at the salon so often so I switched to doing it myself for a period of time.
Now, I dye it at a salon - my hair sponsor Shunji Matsuo @ 313, and have been with them for a year now. My hair stylist is the very talented Caely!

4. Do you wear the same style every day or do you change it?
For clothes, I'm not gonna lie, I usually wear the same style. I don't always like to dress up, so I'm usually dressed very casually or in basics. That aside, I do like to change it a little now and then, but always tend to revert to basics.

For my hair I try to braid them up sometimes, or try various different colours. It's ombre now (dark brown to blonde), and I think it looks best curled but I have yet to master the art of curling my very full head of hair.

5. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
Again, I used to do it myself but now I get my nails done at my sponsor's - D'Nail Palette

My pedicures, however, I do myself.

6. How often do you change your nail polish?
For my gel nails, about once a month?? My pedicures depends on my mood though. I'm using Nicole by OPI polishes on my toes now and they last for very long!

7. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
Just in the Summer! Mainly because we only have Summer here in Singapore~

8. How long does it take for you to put on your makeup?
Depends on how "perfect" I want it to be. Takes from 10~30 minutes. I actually enjoy taking my time to do my makeup, I find it.. calming??

9. What do you do first, face or eyes?
Face first, then I work from my brows down. (Brows, Eyes, Cheeks, Lips)

10. Do you “collect” makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I guess I'm in between?? But I have been getting so much makeup nowadays that I haven't bought much in a long time!

11. How often do you wear false eye lashes?
There was a period that I liked wearing them whenever I have makeup on, but I've been lazy for a good while now. Now it's dependant on my mood and the event I'm doing my makeup for.

12. Do you do a full face of makeup every day?
Nope. I only do full makeup for events or dates with B.

13. Do you wear makeup when you are home alone, or with family?
Nope! I don't see a point in it.

14. Will you leave the house without makeup?
There was a period my skin was horrible and I wouldn't want to leave my house without even a little bit of BB cream, but it's so much better now (thanks DRx Clinic!) and leaving the house with no makeup now is no problemo~ I never leave without sunblock on my skin though.

15. How many high-end products do you have?
I don't think I own high-end products? I don't see the point in using such expensive products.. yet. I do own some counter products though.

16. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?
Half-half. Depending on the occasion. If it's something big (or if it's early) I'll plan it the night before. If not I'll go accordingly to my mood in the morning.

17. How often do you change your handbag?
I only use 2 bags now - my 2 leather bags from Rabeanco. I'm usually quite lazy to change bags because I carry a lot of things in my bag, but depending on my mood and outfit I do rotate them.

18. What time do you get up and go to sleep?
Around 11am~1pm, and between 2~4am LOL.

19. How often or when do you work out?
Almost never.... been about 5 years since I've last exercised!

20. Left handed or right-handed?
Righty!

21. How tall are you?
Last measured at 162cm. Might have grown taller or shrunk though!

22. Do you speak a foreign language?
Not really.

23. How many pets do you have?
0 ):

25. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Sometimes!

26. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Depends? I wouldn't keep a list but I might check out the products if I happen to see them.

27. How did you come up with your blog name?
Ok my blog url used to be ChandelierDreams, and I only remembered that the "Chandelier" part came by because I really liked Chandeliers. Now I changed it to JamieTYJ, which basically means my name - (Jamie) Tan Yi Jing.

28. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?
iPhone 4S, Samsung EX1, Casio Exilim TR150.

29. How often do you clean your house?
My mum does it :|

30. What is your favourite colour?
I like Purple and Rose Gold!

31. Do you swear?
Depending on the situation, but not really I guess?

32. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Nua all day hahahaha. Hopefully put together some blog posts and settle my schedule for next week!

That's all for this tag! I'm tagging anyone who's interested to do this as well. Drop me a comment or your link if you're doing this tag too!

Sentimental Circus

Saturday, March 23, 2013
Hey sweeties! Back with a short update this Sunday morning! Again, if you follow me on my other social media platforms, you'd have seen what I've done with my nails!!

Got a new design with Phyl again, and this time round I opted for a few 3D designs. Initially I wanted to do a full set of 3D nails (on all fingers) but I wouldn't have the time because I had to go somewhere else after my appointment (which usually takes 2 hours), so Phyl wouldn't have the time to do both my extentions (will get onto that in a bit) and a full set of 3D designs on the spot.

As to why I needed extensions.... I kiapped (slammed) my pinky with the door (hurt like a bitch as well) and the nail totally broke off. My only comfort was that it missed my nail bed so it didn't bleed, but there's a mild bruise (you'll see it in the next picture). As for my thumb, the side was chipping off because it was always pressing against my retainers when I remove them every morning.

Went back to Phyl's in noon and did the usual proceedures of removal by buffing, and touching up of my hard gel. Btw, my NATURAL nails are sooooo long now! I can't even believe it because they have never been this long, and my nail beds are nice and long now as well. I couldn't take much pictures when the extentions were done because they were being done on my right hand and it was hard for me to snap pictures with my left, but here's how they look after the gel extensions on both fingers! (The rest are my natural nails)
Very cool when I saw how it was done la lol! I was blabbering to Phyl like a suaku (country bumpkin) about how cool I thought it was she must have thought I was mad hahahah. It feels very natural now that I can easily forget that they're extensions when I do my daily stuff because they feel so secure and light! It did feel a little hot under the UV lamp while curing, but definitely bearable!

I left Phyl/to decide the colours and watcher her stick on my pre-made acrylics on my nails!(Some can be pre-made but some has to be made directly onto your nails) And here's the very cute end result! I love how the vertical stripes made my nails and fingers look even longer and slimmer!
Ribbons on the thumbs!

I really liked how Phyl did such a great job with the likeness to the actual character! She does Hello Kitty and My Melody very nicely as well!

She also mentioned to me that she may be rolling out with a promotion soon, so stay tuned for that! Will definitely update you guys when she launches it!

Scallop/Checks

Top: Forever21 | Skirt: Online | Belt: Bangkok
Shirt: H&M Men | Bag: Rabeano | Watch: Kenneth Cole New York

Just another episode of my stealing borrowing the boy's clothes to incoporate into my outfits. I recently bought some clothes online so when they arrived I naturally wanted to wear them ASAP! First up was this scallop-edge skirt which really caught my eye when I saw it - it came in 3 colours and I wanted to buy them all but I managed to restrain myself and only bought the black.

Don't mind my headless shots - my hand wasn't long enough to capture a full image of my outfit with my head included (fml), so here's a picture of my face for that day!

The reason why I was in one of B's top was that I was worried the skirt might be a little short, and also because I didn't want to look too "sexy" that day with top my top and my skirt being fitting. It also helps to make the look more casual. Oh, I matched them with sneakers but they can't be seen (not that I was wearing them when the picture was taken though).

Accessories wise - just a belt to define my waist and the usual set of rubber bands I wear on my wrist. Paired it with the new watch B got for me from Kenneth Cole since I lost my old watch ):. This is in a lovely shade of Rose Gold, and I really love the details such as the rim of crystals as well as the fact that the backing is see-through!

That's about it for today's post! Hope you guys all have a great week ahead!

My DRx Journey - 2 weeks update

Monday, March 11, 2013
Hi loves!

If you remembered my post (which was 2 posts back cause lazy me was lazy to blog...) on my consultation with DRx Clinic, you would've caught a glimpse of my horrible skin condition.

I can now very excitedly proclaim that those days are now behind me (can believe I have only been using the products for 2 weeks wtf) and I confidently go out without any make up (at least facial make up) now!! The boy also seems to be very glad about this because he always did say he'd prefer me without make up. People around me have also commented on how much my skin has improved!

Conveniently snagged off my Instagram.
Just a lil bit of eyeliner on this, and nothing else.

Anyways, with reference to the previous post: not that I didn't want to put up a bigger picture of my skin condition, but because the collage I made of the befores is too big in dimension (mainly the height of the image), google doesn't allow me to embed a bigger image. No worries because today you will be able to see the comparison.

I will be reviewing the products shortly, but (again referring back to the first post where i posted my prescribed regime), I am now off the Blemish Formula (BF) and Acne Spot Lotion (ASL) because my break outs are cleared.

For the comparison pictures, don't mind the colour of the images because they are taken in different conditions from when I took the "before" pictures. Other than the automated tweaking of images with Photoshop, no touch ups were made to the images. And.. my face looks shinier because these images were taken right after I woke up.

My forehead which was my greatest area of concern showed the most improvement as well. Don't mind the red strip along the top of my eyebrows because I just got them threaded yesterday. Most of the dry and peeling skin plus the bumps went away, and old marks are evening out. I do still have some persistent clogged pores, like the one right at the start of my brows - itchy fingers went to squeeze it out which explains the red mark.

I wouldn't say that this is perfect now, but it's a great deal of improvement from my "before". And for your ease of viewing.. here's the comparison, side by side.
Much better, don't you think?

Other areas:
"Before" pictures here

Of course, because these are close-up images of the skin, you can't really see but my pore size is really much smaller now. Not that they were that huge to begin with, but this regime has definitely helped a lot (unclogging and reducing the size of them, mainly). My skin is now clearer (skin tone is more even as well) and pore texture is much more refined. I no longer feel small bumps on my skin, especially when washing my face. Not sure if this is supposed to happen, but my skincare products now absorb better and much faster than they did at the start.

I do have to say though, that the regime is quite extensive and time-consuming. Not sure if i mentioned it in my previous post, but when I first started on my regime it takes me 15~20 minutes to complete (including waiting time to dry between steps), but now it takes me less than 10 (excluding the ABM since it leaves on for an hour) and I memorized the steps within 2 days of usage so there shouldn't be a problem for y'all.

A couple of my friends have already made their appointments and visited the clinic, and one of them is about 1 week into her regime and has seen results as well! If you're interested to visit them, just click on the banner over on the right and make your appointment :).

Okay that's it for this post! Have already booked my follow up appointment with Dr. Angela for her to review my progress. Stay tuned for product reviews soonish!~ If you have any questions, just comment below!
