SILKYGIRL

For the longest of time, I haven't been a great fan of most (not all) powder foundations for the main reason that most of them ends up making my face look cakey. They tend to be a problem for me because I have oily skin so my skincare products tend to be aimed at drying it out… which makes it very easy for powders to look cakey on me because they don't sit on my skin well.

I was given the SILKYGIRL Magic BB All-In-One Powder Foundation to try out recently... and it has blown my mind. Truth be told, I have never tried out SILKYGIRL products ever. This is my first time trying out their products and I honestly didn't expect too much from them.

For those of you who might not know (or have heard of SILKYGIRL),its products are formulated for Asian skin. The Magic BB All-In-One Powder Foundation is perfect for everyday use, enriched with natural ingredients.
The powder has a very fine texture and feels very light on the skin; almost as if it’s barely there. It looks and feels very natural when applied. And just like what you'd expect from a BB cream, it's fast and provides good coverage, all while looking like you have no makeup on. Super awesome and perfect for everyday wear! Plus, the pink packaging doesn't hurt x

I don't usually like applying powder with sponge applicators as they tend to apply too much product, but they are rather handy to have for touch ups. When I'm applying it at home, I use a dense kabuki brush to apply it. If you prefer more coverage with this, simply use a damp sponge to apply it onto your skin.

I was sent 3 shades to try out and the shade that best fits my skin is 02 Natural. The shades have a slightly warm/yellow tone to better suit Asian skin tones, and has that pleasant powdery smell that I like.

Another product you girls should definitely look out for when you are at the drugstore is this - Matte Fever Lipcolour Balm.

Again, I wasn't expecting too much from this but the colour payoff from JUST ONE SWIPE is comparable to similar products from other (high end, even) brands. The pigmentation is so good that the colour comes out very true, and is opaque even when applied on the lips.
The balm has a soft-matte finish and feels balmy and smooth on the lips, despite it being a matte product. I'm a big fan of matte lipsticks but I know that more often than not, they have the tendency to highlight dry patches/flakes on your lips.

Vogue is a gorgeous everyday colour, and it looks super natural on the lips. Think: "my lips but better". It might just be my favourite colour amongst the 3. Lip colours can easily change the way your makeup looks - bringing you from sweet to sultry with just one swipe of colour.

I would definitely recommend Flame if you like orange lippies - as this one has the perfect balance of red and yellow, so it doesn't make my skin look too washed out/sullen. However, this will also have to depend on your skin tone. If you are too tanned, chances as this colour might be too light for you.

The SILKYGIRL Magic BB All-In-One Powder Foundation comes in 4 shades while the Matte Fever Lipcolour Balm comes in multiple colours.

SILKYGIRL is available at Watsons and Guardian stores- do check them out today!
