For the longest of time, one of the features I haven't been liking too much on my face has been my nose bridge (the area between my eyes). I felt that it's really low and flat, so it in turn makes my nose flatter as well. I have had nose fillers done previously, but they generally last between 12~18 months and mine has already long dissolved.
You can see just how flat my nose looks (especially for more frontal shots) in pictures if I didn't contour it or anything. These pictures were taken very recently just on my trip to Japan. Plus, because of how low my bridge is, whenever I wear specs/sunglasses, they would either slid off my nose or hit my cheeks - so I really wanted a slight elevation.
So I recently headed to
Assurance Skin, Laser and Aesthetics over at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital to get nose fillers done again.
Just like any other procedures, a consultation is done beforehand so that you can let the doctor know what you are looking to do (which in my case, was nose bridge fillers) and the doctor can advise accordingly. Most importantly, I also wanted to make sure that my fillers looked natural and in-line with the rest of my features so i made sure to convey that to Dr Wong.
Dr Wong was really patient and professional, and I definitely felt like I was in good hands. With so many years of experience under his belt, he definitely knows what he is doing.
After we were done with the consultation, we headed over to the procedure room to apply the numbing cream for the fillers. The good thing about fillers is that it is temporary (so that you can always get it done to suit your face shape/features even as they shift as you age) and that you can get it done quickly and immediately with no down time. Plus, I learnt an interesting fact that you can get your fillers dissolved if you end up being unhappy with how it looks.
The numbing cream was applied for about 45 minutes. During that time, you are free to do whatever you want to - I had work that day so I brought my laptop along with me and did my work while waiting for the numbing cream to take effect.
After the numbing cream, iodine is applied as an antiseptic.
Here's my nose bridge BEFORE:
Thanks to the numbing cream, the injection didn't hurt one bit, but I could still feel mild pressure when the fillers are injected into the targeted area.
See how tiny the injection mark is?
Moulding the shape is key for it to looking natural!
No down time nor bruising. A little concealer over the area to cover up the injection mark
All done! There is however, bound to be a little swelling so the height seen now is slightly more elevated than meant for. The fillers will take 2~3 days to settle to its final height so if there is any touch ups to be done, it would have to be after that.
