Previously I mentioned that Maybelline was going to launch new products in Nov/Dec 2011 and they sponsored me with the products to review. Today, I'll be reviewing the Colour Sensational Lipstick range.
Ravishing Reds & Corals (for that sexy sulty look)
Peachy Scene, Summer Sunset, Are You Red-dy, Verry Cherry, Red Revival
Polished Pinks (girl-next-door sweet lips)
Born With It, Pink Peony, Hooked on Pink, Pink Wink, Party Pink
Provocative Plums (perfect for fall!)
Yummy Plummu, Plum-Tastic, Plum Paradise, Plum Perfect, Mauve Me
Sensual Nudes (natural and minimal)
Treny Toffee, Warm Me Up, Crazy For Coffee, Cinnamon Stick, Tinted Taupe
With 20 shades to choose from, the Colour Sensational range's compehensive palette will allow you to pick the colours that suit you best. Designed in a stylish jewel-like casing, the lipsticks are also categorized into four differen colour families to help you know straightaway which hue you're reaching for.
Maybelline sponsored me with one shade from each family.
Light swatches (the colour gets more opaque when applied with a heavier hand)
Here are a couple of colours when used:
Peachy Scene:
And, Plum Perfect (The perfect fall colour!)
Packaging: 4.5/5
I really like the packaging and how its classified into each category. The only downside about it is that the packaging tends to get a lot of fingerprints sticking to it, so -0.5 on that.
Scent: 5/5
I really really like the scent on this because it isn't too sweet.
Texture: 4.5/5
I super love the creamy and silky smooth texture of the lipstick, and the finish it gives and how it feels on my lips. However, the colour does not stay for very long. That being said, i totally dig how the colour (even the dark ones) does not stain my lips.
Colour offput: 5/5
The colour offput is strong and as opaque (or even darker) than you'd see on the stick itself. The colour is simply gorgeous. I've tried all 4 of the colours and they'll definitely be something i'd wear out!
Price: 4.5/5
Since i don't usually buy lipsticks, (I'm usually more of a lipbalm person) this is a little pricey for me as compared to my lipbalms. However, my staple lipstick is from M.A.C and this is definitely cheaper for nearly the same or even better quality.
Availability: 5/5
Avilable at Watsons, Guardian, SASA, major supermarkets and hypermarkets and selected departmental stores, this product will be nearly everyone starting December 2011.
Overall: 4.75/5
Definitely will repurchase. I can't wait to see the other colours when they're launched!
