Maybelline's Bloggers' Brunch

Wednesday, March 14, 2012
Sometime last month, I got invited by Kelvin and Zoe to attend Maybelline's Blogger/Fan Brunch event. It was the first time that Maybelline has held such an event, and it was rather large scale as well! Probably around 80 guests, and we even got to see a fashion show and a couple of short demos.

The purpose of the event was actually to share with us about 4 new exciting products which are going to be launched, which you will find out at the end of the post~

Seated with Xinyi!

The brunch was held at Covelli, which I didn't take any pictures of... The event kick started with product introductions from Avril, and followed by a Fashion show, courtesy of Love,Bonito.

For the first show, only half the makeup on the models' face were done - this is because they want to show us how much of a difference makeup can do, as well as showcase their new products which are for the eyes~

Then, the makeup artiste gave us a demo on how to apply the new products, and which ways give the optimal effects~

Following that, a demo by Wanton Doodle (who is a really talented illustrator, check out his website at wantondoodle.com)

And ending off the event with part 2 of the fashion show, with the models' makeup all done, and food :D.

Maybelline BB UV White

Did you know that Maybelline is the #1 BB Brand in Singapore?? Joining their family is the UV White which has the highest SPF in the market (as well as in the BB family) of SPF 50PA++. The BB UV White's Ambassador is Kimberly Chia.
“Because I often have outdoor shoots, I need to be conscious of protecting my skin from harmful UV rays. Maybelline B.B UV helps me do just that with its high SPF. Plus its natural coverage helps me look camera-ready at all times. With its light texture, it is great for girls who are often outdoors or hanging by the beach, just like me!”
The BB UV White has a beige/yellow undertone, which is really suitable for girls who find that some BB creams which have greyer undertones will wash them out. Optimal application with fingers.
Maybelline B.B UV White retails for $17.90 from March 2012 at Watsons, Guardian, SASA, major supermarkets and hypermarkets and selected departmental stores.

Jelly Glow Blusher

The Jelly Glow Blusher has a new jelly texture that is as smooth as cream, and light as powder. It blends onto the skin really smooth and easily, and has a powdered finish. The blush has bits of shimmer, and I noticed that the pigmentation does not come out as strong as shows, but is buildable. Optimal application with fingers as well.
Maybelline Jelly Glow Blush (4 different shades)retails for S$15.90 from April 2012 onwards at Watsons, Guardian, SASA, major supermarkets and hypermarkets and selected departmental stores.

Maybelline Volume Express Magnum Ultracomb Waterproof Mascara

This is definitely a star product for me because it defines the lashes VERY nicely and looks so natural because it coats and separates each lash individually. It doesn't smudge and removes very easily. It doesn't give as dramatic of an effect as compared to the rest of the Magnum-series mascaras thou, but all is good!
Maybelline Volum’ Express Magnum Ultra Comb Waterproof Mascara retails for $19.90 from April 2012 at Watsons, Guardian, Sa Sa, major supermarkets and hypermarkets and selected departmental stores.

Masterliner White

This eyeliner is what I'd call and automatic crayon liner because of it's texture and the fact that there is no need to sharpen it. Love/hate the automatic eyeliners because they tend to go blunt and be less precise, but it does make the job of application easier. The liner glides on smooth and easy, and gives good colour output and has a dry yet creamy texture. It does a good job on the waterline, but since the waterline is moist, the colour does not come out as white - only brighter.
Maybelline Master Liner White retails for S$11.90 from April 2012 onwards at Watsons, Guardian, SASA, major supermarkets and hypermarkets and selected departmental stores
