VDL: Violet Dream Luminous

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Attended VDL's blogger launch party last week and got a chance to try out some products from their extensive range which recently launched in Singapore. VDL products ranges from beauty products to fragrances, so you girls can go check out their first flagship store (out of Korea) at Suntec City Mall #02-338/339.
My latest obsession? VDL's Triple Shot Tint Bar. You guys should already know I'm a big fan of the Korean Ulzzang Gradient lip trend (thats how I always apply my favourite Kate Moss x Rimmel #16. Speaking of which I am preparing a video on how to get the gradient lips look!) and this is that look in a single tube.. plus it stains your lips in a beautiful shade. This can be used to get the gradient lip look or swiped across the lip to give a milky colour. HIGHLY recommended!

I love the concept of their Festive Love Mark Series products because they have such innovative names for their products of different colours for you to tell a story with your look: for example "Back Hug(blush), Cruz(lipstick), in Club E (eyeshadow). (Exclude the Triple Red which does not being in the range)

The blush and eyeshadow duos are intensely pigmented and really just gorgeous. The pigments are very finely milled and reflects the light beautifully. I expected that the blush will be too shimmery but it is so fine that it just leaves a lovely natural sheen on the face. Also another product to recommend. The eyeshadows I have yet to try, but makeup maestro Clarence Lee used it on the model (Club E) and it was nice and pigmented, and blended easily!
The festive love mark lipsticks.. I fell in love with the moment I twisted the bullet to reveal the lovely embossing. I also liked that the cap is magnetic for a better seal.. There was once the cap of one of my lippies came off and got all over the inside of my pouch ):. Anyway... the one I tried was Cruz which is a Matte colour and I can definitely see myself wearing it often. The colour payoff is great and it is hydrating despite being matte, plus there is little transfer and it stays on the lip well.
(Psssst.. The first 10 readers to quote "jamietyj" with a minimum purchase of $40 nett (instead of $80) in a single receipt will stand to receive one of these lovely lipsticks worth $21 for free! This offer is only valid till 12th July while stocks last)

I have yet to take pictures of the Mascara and Eyeliner but I have tried both and I really like them! Love love love the mascara but not so much the eyeliner because I have oily lids and they don't stay on (for long) - but it's an intensely black and thin liner which is perfect for lining the eyes.

Check out VDL Singapore's Facebook Page if any of you needs more information :)

  1. Wow, a one step gradient lip? That lip product looks promising!

I've never heard of this brand before, but everything looks great.

The festival love mark lipsticks are adorable! I'm such a sucker for cute packaging especially on lipsticks, even though the pattern would disappear after you use it.

Their eyeshadow and blush duos remind me slightly of MAC's Mineralize powders... which I need to get my hands on.

    Lovely post Jamie ^^
