LG G3

From my previous post about Singtel's New Youth Plans, I gave you guys a little preview on my new LG phone. It's the very first android phone I've ever owned, and to be completely honest about it, I am personally not an avid fan of the android OS (my mum has an android tablet so I know roughly how it works) because it seemed to be much more complicated and harder to use than the iOS partly because I have grew so used to using an iPhone. However, just like all android users around you always say, it is really much simpler and has more features than what iOS offers.

First up, let me run you through into the physical components of the LG G3! The phone is sleek and has a seamless design such that there are actually no buttons on the side of the phone, only the back! It comes in several colours and they recently launched the red and purple one over in stores but I really loveeee this phone in the rose gold shade. Got me awhile to get used to not having any buttons by the side of the phone (y’know how you usually adjust the volume and take a photo just by the side of the phone on the iPhone). For the G3, the volume and power button is all placed at the back of the phone and its light curvature makes it easier to hold in your hand, and the finish looks really classy and elegant!

Not to mention, the G3 has a much bigger (and clearer) screen compared to my iPhone 5S!

I have always been always watching videos on-the-go and sometimes the iPhone screen just isn't good enough. So much for retina display! I can't even watch YouTube videos in 1080px on it :( The G3 has much much more pixels in the screen, and in layman terms, allows for a clearer image (approx. 4x clearer than Full HD!!).
Watch YouTube videos in 1080px? Yes please!

Also, a little additional feature in the G3 that I personally liked is that the front has a tiny LED light that lets you know if you have a missed call, a text/whatsapp message, or when your phone is fully charged. Am personally a big fan of visual customization. Some of the colours (eg. whatsapp message) for the light can be customized and changed accordingly, and you can assign a specific colour to your contact.

Another point that I want to mention here which totally blew me away is that I CAN TOP UP MY EZLINK CARD WITH THE LG G3!!!! The G3 has NFC, which is the type of technology your ezlink card uses and you can just tap your ezlink card onto the back of your G3, and top up your card on the app! HOW AMAZINGGG ?!?!?!
Gone are the days of queuing up at the MRT station behind tourists who have no idea how to use the machine or buy 10 standard travel tickets at one go (I stay at a tourist populated area so I go through this pain close every week). Gone are the days of having to queue to top up your card during peak hours and to be at a bus stop with no ATM in sight for you to top up your card, and say bye to the days when you have to drag yourself to the nearest MRT station or bus interchange just to top up your ezlink card!! (Anyway, my card is called rilakkuma card cause I have a rilakkuma sticker on it haha).

If you are as amazed as me with regards to the top up function, wait till you see the camera! I know many of you might think that I do not take much photos with my phones anymore, but I do - it's just that I don't post them up as frequently anymore haha. It’s impossible to not take photos using your phone since all our phones (or at least mine) are usually around you 24/7. LG has decided to take away the usual "front camera" term and went straight ahead to calling this the "selfie camera" on your phone!
It also has an in-built beautifier and you can swipe along the bottom of the screen to adjust the intensity which also means .. you no longer need to mtxx (mei tu xiu xiu) your picture to brighten or soften your skin tone anymore haha.

One special feature is that you can remotely snap a selfie with the built in motion sensor in the phone. It senses your palm and when you make your hand into a fist it gives you a 3 second countdown (which gives you enough time to move your hand away) before snapping the shot.

Imagine how convenient this would be for those of you who find it v troublesome to carry the selfie stick around? With this function in the phone, I then start to question myself how do I always used to be able to take selfies w/o this timer function?

I've been using and loving the G3 so much that I actually went to get another number just so that I can use both of my phones! The battery of the G3 also lasts much longer so I don't have to worry about being un-contactable mid-day if I'm out the whole day!
